Hi! My name is Timur. I was born and raised in Russia. When I was 30, I moved to America and have been living here for 8 years. In Russia, I graduated from higher technical education and have a specialty as an engineer in technology and development of welding production. After college, I worked at a gas company and within 2 years became the head of a non-destructive testing laboratory. In America, I started working at a computer company as a technical specialist. My responsibilities included testing and repairing electronic equipment. Over the years, I have acquired and developed the skills of attentiveness, punctuality, performance, communication, time management, logical thinking, finding problems and solving them. Now I have completed courses in QA and want to find a job in the field of IT technology with the prospect of career growth and development of professional qualities.

My name is Elena. I have been living in the US for 22 years. I studied English linguistics and translation for 4 years at Moscow State Linguistic University in Russia and after moving to the US I graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (International Business and Marketing). All my life I mostly worked in hospitality and restaurant industry, as well as in real estate marketing. I have experience in social media marketing, Facebook ads, SEO, creating Shopify websites and selling on Amazon. Recently I started looking into various opportunities of working remotely and realized that IT industry is the best option. I compared various IT specializations and decided that QA would match my skill set the most as I am extremely detail-oriented and good at searching for errors and editing. I hope to find a position as a manual QA Engineer/Tester and hopefully will be able to move to the position of an Automation QA Engineer in the future.

Hey there! My name is Taras. Originally I'm from Ukraine, but for the last 2 years I’ve been living in the USA. And I'm on a mission to dive into the world of QA testing. Previously, I had a blast working as a dealer/cashier on a cruise ship, where I learned a lot about managing my time, being responsible, and navigating tricky situations. It's all about evaluating situations on the spot and finding the perfect solution. Now, I'm excited to bring those skills into QA testing – precision, attention to detail, and problem-solving are my strengths. I am intrigued about the opportunity to learn and grow through your classes and look forward to the possibility of joining your program. I've realized that getting your classes would be a game-changer for me personally and professionally.

Hey there, I'm Eugenii, soaking up the sunny vibes in Sacramento. Ever since I can remember, I've been entranced by the world of computers. I'm the guy who can spend 24/7 in front of a screen, unraveling the mysteries of different applications. Life throws challenges at me, and I thrive on tackling them head-on with slick computer programs. The satisfaction of seeing applications run seamlessly is my kind of aesthetic pleasure.

In the realm of digital communication, I've tested and fixed lines like a pro. Setting up Windows and Linux operating systems? Consider it done. Modems and routers? Configured. MS Office suite? I'm your guy, with MS Access as my secret weapon – I slashed data validation time from a week to just 3 hours with some nifty tricks. From GeoCad to MapInfo, a touch of Photoshop/Gimp, and a dance with various video editors, I've dipped my toes into diverse tech waters.

While I might not be a hardcore gamer, my fascination with the gaming scene dates back to wireframe graphics in my childhood. From then to now, with realistic online games, I've always kept an eye on the industry. And when I get a breather, I indulge in a game or two.

Recently, I pulled off a tech wizardry in the legal realm, navigating through a paperwork jungle to register a house and land under my ownership. Legal battles? Been there. My company faced setbacks in real estate court cases, but with enthusiasm and out-of-the-box thinking, we won four real estate cases and secured victories for our company's movable assets. Rollercoaster, right? But my creativity and determination paid off.

Now, after over a year in the US, the buzz about diving into the IT industry through testing has caught my attention. I'm here to shake things up and carve a new path for myself – it's time for a tech revolution in my life.

Hi there, my name is Andrew. I am 39 years old. I received my higher economic education in Moscow in 2007. I have been in the USA since 2023. I have a valid EAD. Although I have tried different fields of activity throughout my life, it was the IT field that gave the most satisfaction. The YouTube channel "SiliconValleyVoice", to which I have subscribed since 2018, brought me to this course.
I was amazed at how easily Mikhail Petrovich explains complex things and does it in an interesting and humorous way. That is why when I came to the USA, the question of choosing a profession was not before me. Having solved the immediate problems, I rushed to Portnov Computer School. Guys, I will be glad to study and get a job together!

My name is Oleg Morozov I'm 23. i came to US 2.5 years ago. I’ve incompleted bachelor’s degree in Russia, because I had to move to US. I finished 3 out of 4 years in major “Technical maintenance of aircrafts and engines”

One of my friend find a job after this course. And I decided to become QA engineer as well. I’ve some basic knowledge in Python. And pretty comfortable with macOS and Windows. I was spending a lot of time with PC when I was a kid. I’ve strong focus and skills to finishing tasks and finding needed information. I’m super motivated to spend 3-4 months and find a new job before May, because I live in FL and my current job require me to spend 50% of time outside. But after May it’s going to be really hot out there and I don’t want to work outside anymore.

I will do my best to find a job in QA ASAP! And after that I’ll continue develop my skills to become a better specialist with higher salary!

I’m super excited that I joined Portnov’s school.

                          Hiring Manager Portnov School

                          Dear Hiring Manager, Mikhail Portnov.

I am writing to express my keen interest in the QA Engineer position at Portnov School. With a powerfull background in quality assurance and a passion for delivering high-quality software, I am confident that my skills and experience align perfectly with your team’s needs. In my work, I used various programs for raster and vector images (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, CorelDRAW). Sometimes I was in the role of a tester and informed the developer about an application that was not working correctly.

My Journey: From Print to Pixels
My career began in the dynamic world of printing, where I led a successful company for over a decade. As the General Manager, I navigated complex processes, increased profitability, and expanded our market presence. Our achievements were recognized through industry awards, and our innovative approach to printing caught the attention of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

A Transformative Project: UNDP and the Cutting-Edge Printing Facility
In collaboration with UNDP, I spearheaded a groundbreaking project—the establishment of a state-of-the-art printing facility. Our mission was to create a model for sustainable, efficient printing that adhered to environmental standards, and it was one of the most modern and technologically advanced on the market. From selecting cutting-edge equipment to training skilled technicians, we achieved our goal within two years. By 2023, our facility not only met our objectives but also turned a profit. During the implementation of the project, I became more and more familiar with IT technologies and it was fascinating. Our success story was included in the list of best small business cases, showcasing our commitment to excellence.

The IT Horizon: Why QA Engineering?
As I delved deeper into project management, I found myself increasingly drawn to the IT landscape. The rapid evolution of technology fascinated me, and I realized that my skills—honed through years of managing intricate processes—could be invaluable in software testing. QA Engineers, I discovered, are not mere bug hunters; they are architects of reliability, gatekeepers of quality, and champions of user satisfaction. Their work ensures that software not only expected functions but also delights users, and it is also safe.

                          My Commitment to Quality Assurance
As I transition into the IT field, I bring not only technical expertise but also a keen eye for detail, problem-solving acumen, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. I am convinced that my practical experience, combined with my innate common sense, will serve me well as a QA Engineer.

                          Conclusion: A Perfect Fit
In summary, having higher education and work skills, I am ideally suited for this position, my journey—from printing presses to UNDP projects—has uniquely prepared me for the challenges of QA Engineering. I am excited to contribute my skills, embrace continuous learning, and play a pivotal role in delivering reliable software. Thank you for considering my application.

                          Sincerely,

                          Alexander Marchenko

                            Hello all,
My name is Smile, currently I stay in Belarus and going to move to Poland as soon as it be possible.

Most of my life after graduating from Moscow Technical University n.a. Bauman (Mechanical Engineer in Rocket Machinery) I worked in Automotive Sector, at different positions:
                            - manager in Tier-1 company (component supply);
                            - key account specialist in a big international Tier-2 company (3M, Minnesota, USA) - components supply, new solutions implementation, new project launch and supervising;
                            - project specialist in Lighting Team in LADA brand Manufacturing Plant, Togliatti, Russia (was a part of Renault Group then) and
                            - QA specialist (Exterior, Interior, Lighting, Dashboard, Seats) in new car project in the same LADA Maker.
Last two positions are since December 2017 till January 2024, it were new for LADA and implemented to respect Renault's approach toward car developing, manufacturing, marketing (in fact, all Life Cycle of a car is structured taking in mind such positions). My duties on last position were to ensure that new car will be developed (including phisical testing process) according to all Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi (the Alliance) requirements, including Functional Requirements and QCDP reuirements (Quality-Cost-Timing). It were positions with cross-functional responcibility and last one - with scope about a half of car Testing Plan.
In my opinion, previous my job have many common pionts with Software Tester job, car project Lyfe Cycle is very similar to IT product project Lyfe Cycle, and all are interesting. I succeded with last position and plan to do my next step in IT sector, namely in Software Testing and QA - because it intersing for me and my main personal features (as they seen by my Colleagues, friends, Family) are highly demanded in Software QA / Tester jobs. In addition - and for me it is important - modern Economy increasingly depends on IT Sector and it creates more and more of World's added value.

Beside this part of my career, I worked in banking system about 3 years; acquired a degree in Economics by finishing High School of Economics in Moscow.
I participated in special program of Japanese Government - with sessions/trainings in Russia and in Japan (tickets by my account). That was a program about Japanese approach toward new small business start-ups

I'm open to new opportunities (opportunity is challenge - and challenges usually helps me to focuse on success), and kindly invite your questions and opinions.
                            Have a good luck!
